Charlotte Nicholls, comúnmente conocida como Charlotte Brontë, fue una novelista y poetisa inglesa, hermana de las también escritoras Emily y Anne Brontë y del pintor y escritor Branwell Brontë. Es conocida principalmente por su novela Jane Eyre, publicada bajo el seudónimo de Currer Bell. Jane Eyre, una conmovedora narración sobre una mujer en conflicto con sus deseos naturales y su condición social, fue un éxito tras su publicación y, desde entonces, se ha convertido en un clásico de la literatura inglesa.
